Our Services

While Civil Aid has transitioned from its original role as a provider of 340 operational units across the UK , our legacy is built upon a comprehensive foundation of emergency expertise. Historically, our services encompassed everything from mass feeding and light rescue to specialised RADIAC monitoring and first aid at public events. Today, we continue to serve the community resilience sector by working towards making this wealth of archive material, equipment, and training knowledge accessible to the next generation of civil protection professionals.

Archive of Historical Materials

Civil Aid maintains an extensive archive that preserves over fifty years of civil protection heritage, offering a wealth of knowledge for those interested in community resilience. Our collection includes historical policy documents, emergency planning literature, and original training syllabi used to prepare thousands of volunteers for disaster assistance. These resources provide detailed insights into the evolution of emergency response, featuring archive materials on the use of RADIAC survey equipment, the establishment of rest centres, and large-scale casualty care procedures. By safeguarding these valuable archives and equipment, we ensure that the lessons and expertise of the past remain accessible to support modern resilience planning.
